An Introduction to Bachata - Four Important Basic Figures

A. STEPS IN PLACE WITH HIP LIFT

Start and end in either Closed Position or Open Position.

This figure often will start most bachata dances. But this is often good for crowded dance floors because it involves no travelling movement.

B. STEPS IN PLACE WITH HIP LIFT, ROTATING TO L

Start and end in either Closed Position or Open Position.

Often, although this move have the same steps as in the previous (Steps in Place With Hip Lift) bachateros will want to do a slow turn (or rotation) to relieve boredom of just simply stepping in place.

Same as the previous two figures, and like the previous one, there is a rotation, but in the other direction.
